Abbot in Cairo set to negotiate with Hamas
CAIRO–MICOM: President Mahmoud Abbas arrived at Cairo, on Wednesday (22/2), to negotiate with Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal on forming a Government of national unity, said the news agency MENA Egypt. The two sides have so far sought to implement the provisions of the agreement on reconciliation, signed in Cairo in May last year, which sets out the establishment of the provisional Government from among the independent to pave the way for presidential and parliamentary elections in a year’s time the Palestinians.
